My home warranty sent these guys. They made an evaporator problem become a compressor problem. They ordered parts for me and then they installed just one part, the compressor, but they did it backwards!!! The freezer still didn’t work, and I didn’t know the other parts were not installed. After a few more calls with them, I got a second and a third opinion and the other companies were speechless by how this company had made a total mess of the fridge. The second and third opinions told me that the evaporator was never installed! Looks like action tech took advantage of my home warranty to order parts and then kept them for themselves. What would have been a $1000-$2000 repair is now $8000. If your home warranty company send these guys, ask for someone else. Scammers!!

Used this company to fix my dishwasher. My dishwasher was operable, but not cleaning efficiently.
First visit: The technicians were nice gentlemen, and requested that a new motor be installed.

Second Visit: Once the part arrived, the technicians came to install the new motor. Within 5 minutes of the installation, the dishwasher began sparking, and the breaker turned the dishwasher off (not sure if I'm wording this properly, but pretty much, the power kept turning off) We called the company again, immediately to let them know what happened. And they let us know it'd be resolved.

Third Visit: The technicians imply that we have an electrical issue and that the dishwasher is working properly on another outlet and there must be a problem with our wires. We speak to the manager who mentions that they cannot repair the electrical issue because they're not electricians, and the dishwasher is fine.

They CAUSED the issue, we've never had a problem with the breaker.

Scheduling is horrible
Customer Service is Horrible

I will update my review as things proceed as this issue is ongoing. For now, Consumer BEWARE.

1) commercial restaurant customer: potential for lifelong business relationship.. Eric is still nasty and rude.. can’t imagine if this jabroni stepped foot in my home

2) $150 service charge for “expert diagnosis”.. additional $500 for a $150 thermostat (CONSUMER COST) and 1 hour of labor. We gotta pay for this “expert” Eric’s time. He will yell at you every step of the way claiming he’s an “expert”

3) Ok, you’re wondering.. this is all fine and well.. as long as the appliance is fixed and working? Nope.. 2 months later.. almost burned half of my face off when I tried turning the thermostat on and a massive flame came directly to my eyes.

4) No problem.. because ERIC guaranteed his service! For 1 year! NOPE!! Not included in warranty!! And it’ll cost an extra $250 to have Eric come check it out!! All the while, he is yelling and belittling you during the entire process. No thank you Eric! I’ll just buy a new oven.. for $1200…. Considering you will continue to yell and take advantage of me!

5) If Eric wants to argue that the second occurrence is not his fault and is a different problem with the oven.. then Eric had the chance to collect $150 and provide “expert advice”.. and tell me to just throw out the oven and get a new one.. because honestly, he’ll likely end up back fixing it in the future.. considering you have 40 years!!! Of seeing ovens.. and understanding potential problems that can occur!!

6) My 30 minutes I have spent in my life speaking with Eric has led me to, rightfully so.. or not.. feel as though he is undeserving of basic human compassion. I am 26 years old.. and a man triple my age spoke to me as though I was less than a mosquito biting on your arm. He mentioned “I’m not a TALKER! I’m a ‘MECHANIC!’” After I said, yes but you’re human and I am too.. he was left speechless and stumbling for words and proceeded to blame me as if I did something to him other than call his company and ask for a simple repair service. If he hasn’t learned by now how to speak to HUMANS.. it’s highly unlikely that he will not..

7) I would not even recommend my enemy to call Eric for a service, as I feel I would achieve endless bad karma for doing such an evil act to somebody for even thinking to put him in contact with such a poor specimen of a human.

Eric.. I hope you sleep at night (without downing 10 beers and yelling at your family, because you sound like that kind of guy)

As for my fellow human beings.. go with your GUT.. you read the reviews.. call anyone else! Literally throw a dart at the wall.. it’ll be better than this experience. I can’t believe I didn’t realize my guy who does pizza ovens also does ranges/ovens.. because I wouldn’t be feeling like this right now.

The man makes you want to throw up at how bad humanity has gotten.

The end.

This company is clearly out to milk you for your insurance. I called them to see my fridge. The first guy they sent out diagnosed a $600+ problem. I paid to have those products paid for. But the second guy who came diagnosed something far different and a lot cheaper. This service are Charlestons, people who steal. I still have to working fridge and I don’t have the parts to change provider. I’ll never deal with them again. They can deal in small claims court.

I usually never take the time to give bad reviews to businesses, but this time I believe it is needed. I called Action Repair Service to look at my washer. The technician (Joe) came in and said the problem was the main control board and that it will cost $485 to fix it. As a result, I decided to pay him the $85 for the diagnostic and not do any work. After some additional research, I figured out on my own that the issue was the water intake valve, and not the main control board. After changing the water intake valve, the washer is working perfectly fine now. Action Repair Service gave me the wrong diagnostic and was looking to charge me $485 for it. When I called their office to get a refund, I spoke to Rick, the office manager, who basically said to me that I was paying for the technician coming to my house to give me "a" diagnostic, regardless of whether it is right or wrong. I believe businesses need to stand behind their work, and that starts by giving the correct diagnostic. This business either doesn't know how to diagnose appliances or they simply tell you something more expensive is wrong to rip you off. Had I decided to do the work, they would have changed the wrong part and then would probably have told me that something else was wrong to take more money from me. I would recommend you avoid this business at all cost.

Poor service and even worse repairs. Previous owners of my house used them so I gave them a chance when the stove broke. Came for diagnostics and ordered a very expensive part, we paid for that and waited for the part to come in to be installed. A week later the technician returned but had ordered the wrong part yet still wanted to charge us for his mistake. Would have been cheaper to buy a new stove after the multiple visits the repair required.
At the same time they repaired our dishwasher which was leaking heavily. A few months later the wonderful patchwork that was done to prevent the leak failed so I called to have a technician fix their poor work. Was told I would need to pay just to have someone come look and they weren't responsible for a "never-ending warranty." You would think they would have a few month's confidence in the work they provide but they don't, just out for more money. There are plenty of other local places, I would steer clear of this one, your appliances and wallet will thank you.

OK… basically if you want to get ripped off call them! My A/C air handler in the attic stopped blowing air. Called them in the morning and they said they would send someone out the same day. Said an estimate would be $89 but would be deducted from the price if the service is done. The service person (Erik; the owner) arrived about 3 hours later; very prompt. This is where the good ends. He looked at the unit and said it needed a 10-microfarad capacitor. Job took literally 10 minutes. He charged me $325 (before taxes)!!!... said labor was $250 and capacitor $75!!! Originally, he was going to charge me $100 for the capacitor but then “discounted” it to $75. I have no issues paying a “fair” markup but the capacitor costs about $2 at a local supply house… but charging someone $75 is price gouging at its finest… that is a markup of about 3,650%!!!!.... you read that right! Also, $250 for 10 minutes of labor… totally unreasonable again. He said it was busy summer season so these are the prices. Enough said, read other reviews (I should have read the reviews myself; my mistake) and make your own educated decision if you want them to provide you service.

I got this company from American Home Shield.
What wonderful people and excellent repair men. Another company sent a workman two times and couldn’t repair my dryer. Action repair came the next day and in a short time my dryer was working. I would never have anyone but Action Repair fix any of my appliances. I just recommended them to my neighbor. Thank you Rick and your men for an excellent job.
