We have come to this store each time we’ve visited Santa Fe for years. We visited again two days ago. The merchandise is lovely but expensive. We have spent a lot of money in this store in the past. We went to the home store part. The old woman with thick black glasses appeared to be managing the store. There was a new girl who had helped us, but she looked to the manager to fix an unfortunate situation. We went to purchase three books we had found, and all three books had $20 price tags clearly listed on them. The books came up differently in the system. The old woman came over and apologized but said the books were incorrectly marked and then marked the price up by $10 per book. Every book we had contained a clearly shown price tag of $20, and all the books in the pile from which we selected the merchandise were the same. This woman claimed the store would lose money on the merchandise if she sold it at the marked price, which a ridiculous lie because all the books were marked in the same way so clearly this had been done intentionally in the past when the store had acquired the merchandise for sale at a lower price. Even if it was a mistake, she did not go over and pull the rest of the tags on the other books to change them immediately as we were leaving. This is no way to treat return paying customers, and it felt like she was intentionally marking up the store inventory to spite us. I hope it was worth the extra $20 we would have saved to receive this negative review for terrible treatment of customers (we put one of the books back and bought the other two on principle). That woman should be reprimanded, and I will not return to that store in the future unless they reach out with apology and compensation. I’d tell others not to go as well, which I very rarely would say.

UPDATE: I appreciate the quick and thoughtful response from the owner, but I still have not received any communication from the manager or anyone else about this situation.

I am over the top grateful to Greig Porter for getting me a match for one of his earrings that I had lost. I am a fan of vesuvianite, and he has been my favorite artist for many years. Glad that I live in a place with so many artisans with such a high level of workmanship and creativity. And thanks to my friend of many years Pele, who facilitated working with Greig.

I love this place—all three shops! Stock is thoughtfully curated and beautifully displayed. As owner of a (much smaller) business, I understand how demanding this can be. I first visited Santa Fe Dry Goods more than 30 years ago during a vacation to New Mexico. I was immediately intrigued. And it has only gotten better with age! If you want to shop quality products that you won’t see everywhere, if you want to be served by a friendly intelligent staff who try to please instead of just sell, this is the place for you. Always a pleasure.

They got some nice collection of designer brands, but people are rude.

Service in the clothing store was fine, but the home goods staff treated me just like what happened in “pretty women” . The staging in the store is pretty, but my house is more like Design within reach style, so I end up not buying anything. The woman staff always watched on me with a disgusted look while I was browsing, and when I was taking pictures of the store, the woman staff yelled at me saying “you took too many”. But I only took two pictures, and even Chanel will let me took some pictures when fitting. Have no idea why the staff was so rude.

I have been happily shopping at Santa Fe Dry Goods for over ten years and have found it to be a place with great style, customer service and innovation. The sales team has helped me build a fantastic wardrobe, supplemented by pieces that I have accumulated through my travels. I want to especially compliment Noelle Stern. She recommends incredible additions, knowing what will be flattering without being redundant. I always look forward to what we do together because shopping to me should be about a relationship as well as a new sweater. Noelle excels at both.

Uncomfortable and uptight vibe, very disappointing customer service.
Also: super high price point on certain items of jewelry that look like play jewelry, low quality craftsmanship that makes me feel like I’m in a tourist trap store. I came to Santa fe for authenticity, not a gimmick.
Kind of ruined my day honestly.

I actually used to shop at Santa Fe Dry goods with my mother when the current owners parents owned the store. After Shoban revamped it it became one of the most interesting places to shop certainly in the US and possibly anywhere in the world. She has brought together pieces from many different places and the result is really exciting. I don’t shop for clothing anywhere else! She also has hired people who care about the beautiful aesthetic of this place and are always great to work with. I have used Gail Beck for several years now and she knows exactly what I like. This is a very special place.
